Despite the rain all day I got on my bike and headed to Vanilla Gallery in Ginza to check out this trio exhibition.
All these guys are heavyweights in their respective fields so if you are not familiar with them it's definately worth doing some background reading and then visiting the show. Hashtags are to save me from explaining in detail. Rockin' Jelly Bean - I like a bit of Rockin' Jelly Bean action. I think lurking behind the mask is some weird japanese pervert offspring of Norman Rockwell. There is a good interview with the man over >on otakumode<. #bape #hystericglamour #rollingstones http://www.rockinjellybean.com/ Katsuya Terada's work I know mainly through his more mainstream books published by PIE. Terada is a huge fan of Moebius so I enjoy seeing where Terada takes his Moebius influences and how he uses them in his own works . There is a short interview in english >here<. #hellboy #eisnernominee #songoku (monkey!) http://katsuyaterada.tumblr.com/ And, well, Hajime Sorayama - You will know his work, even if you don't know the name. I am not going to hashtag this guy as that would give the game away. http://www.hajimesorayama.com/ The exhibition run at >Vanilla Gallery< in Ginza until April 12th. Admission is 500 yen. GO! GO! GO!
